IGNITE is a Career and Personality Development Workshop organized at Namma JNV for the students of the institution by JNVCKM Alumni Association ! Here is the event newsletter for the 11th edition of IGNITE.
 
7:20 AM - 8:00 AM, MP Hall
Namma JNV welcomed us with open arms for the 11th edition of IGNITE. The sheer joy of being at JNV Chikmagalur had lightened up the spirits of Team IGNITE. The agenda for the day was briefed to students during the morning assembly time.

9:30 AM - 10:00AM, MP Hall
Amidst the mother nature, all the enthusiastic kids set up an electrifying atmosphere for all of us. The 11th edition of IGNITE was on cards at Namma JNV. After a quick meet and greet with the Principal, Vice-Principal, Teachers and Staff, IGNITE was inaugurated in MP Hall. Without any delay, we kick-started the ever-ambitious IGNITE.

11th and 12th Students were seated in MP Hall and 10th students had workshop in Girl’s Mess.
 
 
11th and 12th Students
10:00 AM to 1:30 PM and 3 PM - 4:30 PM
Team Formation:
A specially designed activity catered us in forming teams among the kids and a mentor was assigned to each team. Each Mentor guided their team throughout the day.
 
Debate:
This activity was a perfect icebreaker as students tried to express their views on various topics. Mentors listened to the 'for' and 'against' views of the students on a particular topic and gave them the much needed feedback for their betterment.
 
Self Motivation:
In an effort to make students realize the importance of motivation, the speaker conveyed several aspects of motivation. The speaker made it a point to motivate the students to bring out the best in them. Difference aspects of Goal setting were also discussed in this session. Several interesting activities were embedded in the talk to deliver the content to students.
Activities and games were conducted to teach kids the most valuable lessons in life. These infotainment activities raised the tempo of the event and were helpful in entertaining the students and imparting knowledge.
 
Student Loans and scholarships:
The students of class 11th and 12th were informed about various education loan facilities and scholarships. The speaker emphasized on the eligibility, process and the ease of getting loans. Students were inspired not to leave their passion just because of financial reasons.
The fun activities continued in this afternoon session too. Students took part enthusiastically in these specially designed games.
 
6:30 PM - 8:30 PM
Feedback &and Let-your-heart-out session:
We made it a point to listen to the inner voices of these amazing kids. The students shared their opinion on IGNITE; good and not-so-good elements. These dazzling kids had a few of their personal stories to share. Their questions were addressed and their thoughts were heard.
Questions largely included these topics - B.Sc streams and Colleges, Research in science stream, JEE for B.E./B.Tech, Scope of different streams in Engineering, Journalism, MBBS and Veterinary Science entrance exams etc..
 
 
10th Students
10:00 AM to 1:30 AM and 3 PM to 4:30 PM
10th students were seated in Girls dining hall for the 'mini' IGNITE. Students witnessed the inspiring sessions by the same speakers. Students were given information about the options available after 10th. Several activities were conducted to convey the information.
 
Class 6, 7, 8 and 9 students
3:00 PM - 4:30 PM
For junior classes (6, 7 & 8), we had an interactive session to boost their confidence and improve communication skills. Several activities were conducted to motivate the bright young minds. These activities lifted their spirits up and taught them a few important things. Class 9 students were given information about the options available after 10th, scholarship exams and involved them in few engaging activities.
 
 
A few useful books were gifted to students, which would help them in building a liking towards reading books.
It was heartening to receive a tremendous positive feedback. Students were benefited from one-of-its-kind workshop.Teachers appreciated the work done by Team IGNITE.
 
 
P.S. : Team IGNITE has started planning for the next edition of IGNITE. We are looking out for individuals who are interested in making a difference to the students of Namma JNV. Please join your hands in the making of 12th Edition of IGNITE.
Volunteering doesn't necessarily mean your physical presence at JNV on the day of IGNITE. We need SMEs from different streams, orators, artists and more than anything else who care for their juniors. Are you IN for this?
