Solar Lighting for Boys’ Dormitories at JNV Balehonnur

All boys’ dormitories at Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya (JNV), Balehonnur, were provided with solar lighting through the generous contributions of the JNVCKM alumni. The initiative was undertaken by the 4th Batch, marking 25 years since joining the school, and the 8th Batch (1989–1996) in association with the Menda Foundation, Bengaluru.

Recognising the importance of a comfortable, safe and well-lit residential environment, the 1989–1996 batch contributed ₹2,50,000 towards indoor solar lighting for the boys’ dormitories.

This initiative addressed an essential everyday need of students residing on campus while promoting the use of renewable energy. The installation of solar lights has helped improve dormitory lighting facilities and contributed to creating a more comfortable living environment for present and future Navodayans.
