We are probably living in one of the most dreadful years of this century. Corona has changed our lives in a significant manner. Irrespective of all the hardships we are facing, the life should go on. First sunday of December has been always very special to Navodayans. It gives us to opportunity to visit JNV and meet all our friends, teachers, staff and students who are currently studying in the institute. This year's alumni meet was quite different and here is a snapshot of (Virtual) Alumni meet conducted on 06th December, 2020.
An online meeting was hosted on Zoom to facilitate the grand union of staff and alumni. Separate breakout rooms were created for each batch to have an informal meeting and relish their good times at Namma JNVCKM.
Once we exchanged the pleasantries from 10:30 to 11:30 AM, the formal meet was kickstarted.
A meeting place was setup in school to allow the staff members to join the Zoom call. Alumni joined the online meeting from various places across the globe.
The event started off with 'Navodaya Song' from Mrs. Gayathri Thite (Music Teacher) and was supported by music group members. This song brought back a lot of pleasant memories. Mr. A. Ravi, PGT Biology welcomed the gathering. Alumni was informed about the important activities and achievements of students in the last year by Mr. Sunny Joseph (TGT Maths). It was a proud moment for all of us to recollect and acknowledge these accomplishments.
Santhosh K, Secretary of Alumni Association, addressed the gathering. He briefed about all the alumni activities undertaken in the past year and laid out the plan for future.
Alumni's contrbution is extremely critical
Mr. A.N. Ramachandra , Coordinator(Alumni Affairs & Outreach) at NVS, addressed the alumni and teachers on this occassion. He urged alumni to actively contribute in the upliftment of JNVs. Former NVS Joint Commissioner also requested alumni to go an extra mile to help students during these covid times in providing personal guidance and mentoring. He was extremely impressed with the way the event was conducted. .
Cultural Park - Batch 1994-01
Anand, an alumnus from 1994-01 batch, highlighted his batch's contribution in ideating and establishing the Cultural Park. Cultural Park has been hugely applauded by Vidyalaya.
25th joining anniversary - Batch1995-02
It was the 25th joining anniversary for the batch of 1995-02. Bharath.G.M and Mahesh shared their memories at JNV and how these 7 years had an impact on their lives.
Meghavi, Quizmaster from Quriosity Knowledge Solutions, lightened up the mood by conducting a quick quiz with questions specific to JNVs. The crowd enjoyed this quizzing.
Let's continue the good work
Mr. Benny Joseph, Assistant commissioner at NVS, was gracious enough to join the online meet from Delhi. He appreciated alumni's work and encouraged alumni to continue doing the same in future.
His constant support and motivation has helped alumni to contribute to Namma JNV in the best way possible.
Mrs. Sreekala, Incharge Principal, gave a quick summary on Vidyalaya's activities in the last year. She thanked alumni's contribution and acknowledged the guidance of Mr. Ramachandra and Mr. Benny Joseph.

Tough Times Never Last, But Tough People Do!
